Strategy | STH Overview | STH Control | Mebendazole | Focus on Children

Children Without Worms' strategic approach is to leverage the donation of mebendazole from Johnson & Johnson to advocate for comprehensive and sustainable control of soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infections.

Children Without Worms achieves its strategic goal by:

  1. Donating mebendazole to national STH control programs that combine prevention (i.e., hygiene education [HE] and increased access to and use of potable water and sanitary latrines [WATSAN]) with treatment (i.e., regular mass deworming).

  2. Advocating for resources to promote HE and access to WATSAN facilities.

  3. Partnering with organizations already working in HE and WATSAN sectors to ensure that donated mebendazole is distributed in an environment that maximizes positive impact.

The strategic approach builds on strength of partners, promotes sustainability, and enhances collaboration and opportunities for reducing costs and utilizing financial and technical resources effectively.
