October 18, 2010 by Kim Koporc
10/18/10 - Take a look at a new publication that helps with developing hygiene promotion programs.
The International WaterCentre recently made available a free publication, "Sharing Experiences: Effective hygiene promotion in South East Asia and the Pacific." The book, which includes 11 case studies from around the world and keynote papers from international experts, serves as an aid for people developing programs that effectively promote good hygiene practices. One of these case studies includes a project in Cambodia managed by Children Without Worms (CWW), Helen Keller International (HKI) and Cambodia's Ministry of Health and Department of School Health (part of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport). They’ve also posted video-based key lessons from the book on YouTube.
The book is a collaboration between:
- WaterAid
- The International WaterCentre
- International Water and Sanitation Centre
- The contributing authors, with financial support from AusAID, the Australian Government’s overseas aid program
The publication was launched on Global Handwashing Day, October 15th, 2010.
